Magazines for P90s come in three standard flavors: 10, 30, and 50 round capacities. What’s the strongest choice? Whichever one is best suited for your tactical or hunting needs.

With these mags, you can easily manage your shot count thanks to the translucent designs. Ten-round magazines which will weigh less than a full American pound (lb.), offer ease of counting, less weight, and may be necessary to prevent as much collateral damage as possible.

Thirty Round Magazines offer a superb blend. The “Goldilocks” of the gun world, thirty-round magazines offer the standard bullet grouping number for simplicity's sake. Most military and police will be able to easily adapt to this number due to the high prevalence of 30-round magazines.

There are also 50 round mags. Thanks to the 5.7x28mm chamber of the FN PS90, you have the beauty of stopping power and the grace of light ammunition in this revolutionary magazine. The Secret Behind the Magazine: More Stacked Rounds

The magic behind the mag is simple: load more ammo by stacking bullets sideways.

Invented by René Predazzer, the P90 magazine design was awarded a U.S. patent and Predazzer was given the title of sole proprietor. A simple 90-degree twist and an innovative magazine turned the weapons world upside down.

The rounds load into the P90 magazine facing bullethead left (If you’re holding the weapon shouldered, facing forward) and sit sideways.

You might be scratching your head as to how and why they sit sideways instead of parallel to the barrel. Once they’re pushed by the spring to the feed point, they are thus twisted 90 degrees back to face inline with the barrel.

The genius: more rounds can be stacked this way.

P90/PS90 mags typically come in extremely durable polymer plastic. Colors are available typically in translucent gray, smoke, and clear to allow the user to see how much ammo they have left. Overall, a fully loaded 50-round magazine will weigh around one pound or slightly over. This depends on the powder loads and other factors.
